Good morning, HLYFE readers!
As you enjoy your weekend, let's incorporate a step to slough off dead skin cells and reveal a brighter complexion:
Gentle Exfoliation.
Once or twice a week, depending on your skin type and the type of exfoliator, use a gentle exfoliator. This can be a physical scrub with fine, non-abrasive particles like jojoba beads or sugar, or a chemical exfoliator like Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) such as glycolic or lactic acid, or Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs) like salicylic acid. Exfoliation removes the buildup of dead skin cells, which can make your skin look dull and rough, revealing brighter, smoother skin and allowing your other skincare products to penetrate more effectively.

Beauty Tip of the Day:
DIY Sugar Scrub (5 minutes):
For a quick and gentle physical exfoliation, mix a tablespoon of granulated sugar (brown sugar is often gentler) with a teaspoon of raw honey (which has antibacterial properties) and a few drops of olive oil or coconut oil for added moisture. Gently massage onto damp skin in circular motions for about a minute, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Avoid using on broken or irritated skin.
Schedule It In:
Choose a morning or evening on the weekend when you have a few extra minutes. DIY scrubs can be made quickly right before use, and chemical exfoliants are often best used in the evening.
